The desire to step into my work fully has been my focus for the past decade and more.  Doing this alone, learning, creating and holding the work has been a challenge and a delight.  Tears of frustration and tears of joy in every new project. In the moments of overwhelm I dream of the team that can hold my vision with me and magically “make it happen”.

Enter Plettenberg Bay Retreats and the delightful team, Vanessa Brewer, Kerese Thom and Laura Jamieson, who lovingly held, heard and honoured my vision that I have been holding for so long. Over tea, we laughed and dreamed in a day of delight.

Kerese began my day with Reiki Energy work and exploration of my business ideas.  We gathered at Emily Moon in Plettenberg Bay at the golden hour so that I could have make-up artist Tigo, from La di da Salon smooth my wrinkles and make my face ready for the cameras.  Then Laura styled the clothing items to match the shoot and with the kindness and dedication of the team, we began to create the images that have the “feel” and energy signal that resonates with me.  Vanessa’s photos are simply magical and during our late afternoon happiness, I felt so deeply grateful to this team of beautiful Souls who really care about their work.  As a team, they offer their unique gifts in an exceptional way.

This was more than just a photoshoot and gathering of images for my business.  This was an experience.   I have been smiling in anticipation since then, feeling that my work and the vision I hold is shared with other beautiful women who know how to uplift and honour each other.  This is truly a landmark experience in my business and would absolutely encourage all entrepreneurs, at any stage of your work and business, to call upon the services of this team.

Vanessa is a fantastic photographer to work with. she has the ability to allow you freedom of expression while still advising and supporting to give you that perfect shot. She is able to capture that perfect Second that takes the shot from being good to being extraordinary. Creative, flexible, easy to work with and with a unique personal flare she is certainly one of the best photographers I have worked with.

Previously I was a reluctant sitter for photos..
Then ‘ Empowered Branding portraits package’ came along and in a soft voice , easy direction and natural light I was suddenly relaxing and focussing …
I had my make-up and hair arranged simply – loved my white top which seemed to reflect on my face ! then after a while I heard her say “Got it ” – her way of concluding the image she wanted was captured. The results are better than my pics taken 10 years ago !!

As a singer, one cannot feel bounded by insecurity. As a mother, our bodies are vessels of love but often feel alien to us. As a performer, we must feel present in the here and now and grounded in our bodies so that we can transport our audience beyond. My session with Vanessa and indeed the image she created, on the one hand makes me feel a true sense of freedom but on the other helps me to feel empowered and powerful in this body that has born my children and allows me to make music.
